Introduction

Welcome to my blog. I hope you stick around for this journey. My ultimate goal is to be around 200lbs, healthy, and be able to run and finish a 100 mile ultra marathon. I will be starting this journey at 367.3lbs. During the process I will be doing races from 5ks all the way to a full Ironman. In fact I had signed up for a full Ironman this year in Panama City. Unfortunately 6 months ago I injured my left knee really bad and had to defer till 2025. So for the past 6 months I have been really down and gained everything back and then some. So to help keep me accountable for losing this weight ai decided to write a blog. For right now my goal is to provide a progress once a week. Most of the posts will happen late Sunday evenings into Monday morning.

So a little bit more about me. My name is Thomas and I am 40 years old. Married to a beautiful wifey who is so supported of my goals. We also have a 19th month old daughter. So through this journey I will talk about the struggles of balancing work, training, and family life.

My heaviest I have ever been was 400 pounds. I made it down to 247 for our wedding. After getting married life happened and depression. I have a sever food addiction and it’s nothing for me to be able to eat 10 to 15k calories in a day. If you want to know what an average day was like during my binging I definitely could write a post about that in the near future. When I was 400lbs I started Keto to lose the weight and it worked for me. Since gaining the weight I have tried keto again but never stuck with it this time or didn’t do a clean keto like in the beginning. So I have decided to start this journey by going back to keto and doing it clean this time. I will also be intermittent fasting as well. I will only eat on full mean a day and that’s it. Monday September 16th 2024 will be day one of this journey.

I’ve decided that every week I will include progress pictures. This is my starting point. I can definitely say without a doubt that this was one of the hardest things to do. I am ashamed of letting myself go like I have. But, I also know that by showing where I’m at in the end will help push me to reach my goals.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I hope you will stick around on this journey.
